GRANNAS' REMARKS - EXAMPLE OF HYPOCRISY

SARAJEVO, AUGUST 6 /SRNA/ – The Embassy of Russia in BiH said that statements by German Ambassador to BiH Alfred Grannas regarding the appointment of the High Representative and the "Southern Interconnection" project represent hypocrisy in its full form.

Reacting to Grannas’ recent acknowledgment that "the High Representative can only be appointed by consensus in the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council," the Russian Embassy questioned why Germany’s representative had not taken the same position in 2021, when there was no consensus within that body on the appointment of Christian Schmidt.

"Probably because Berlin considers its position to be the only correct one, while Moscow’s position can be ignored," the embassy stated.

The Russian Embassy assessed this as a clear manifestation of "Aryan racial superiority," adding that the world remembers how such attitudes ended in 1945.

"Ambassador Grannas claims that the benefit of the 'Southern Interconnection' is that it will free BiH from Russian gas, but immediately, without blinking, confirms that the construction of this gas pipeline contradicts EU regulations!? Is there logic in this statement from a representative of a nation that gave the world Hegel, or is this 'dialectical logic' reduced to the principle - in spite of Russia, I will shoot myself in the head," the Russian Embassy said.

The embassy noted that everyone could see what was happening to Germany without Russian gas, arguing that Berlin had condemned itself to decline by meekly accepting the destruction of Nord Stream, which, it said, was confirmed by developments in Germany’s once-renowned automotive industry.

"But here too the ambassador Grannas is not entirely sincere. Seeking to end BiH's supply of Russian gas, Germany, like many European countries, continues to buy Russian LNG while panic-adding supplies to replenish depleted reserves," the Russian Embassy in BiH pointed out.

The embassy added that, as German media have reported, traces are being concealed and purchases are not shown in statistics because they are carried out through Belgium.

"Hypocrisy in its full form," the Russian Embassy in BiH said in response to Grannas’ recent interview.
