GOGANOVIĆ: HELEZ SHOWN HE IS NOT FIT FOR HIGH-LEVEL POLITICS

SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 26 /SRNA/ – Deputy Minister of Defence in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović told SRNA that Minister of Defence Zukan Helez cannot ban the arrival of Hungarian officials, but that through his reckless and rigid actions he is damaging BiH’s international reputation and once again showing that he is not fit for high-level politics.

"Helez cannot prohibit the arrival of senior Hungarian officials, our proven friends," Goganović said, commenting on Helez’s decision to ban the landing of the aircraft carrying Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó at Banja Luka Airport.

He noted that Hungary is a member of both the EU and NATO, a country expected to vote on BiH’s further steps toward EU membership.

"U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly stressed that Hungary is a key American partner in Europe, and it is precisely in Budapest that a historic meeting between the world’s two biggest leaders, Trump and /Russian President Vladimir/ Putin, is expected to take place," Goganović said.

He stated that individuals like Helez, with their reckless and exclusionary moves, harm the very BiH they claim to defend.

"We from Republika Srpska in the joint institutions will continue to pursue serious and responsible policies," Goganović said.

Media outlets in the FBiH reported that Helez refused to allow the plane carrying Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó to land in Banja Luka because, as he stated, Szijjártó has supported Milorad Dodik for years.
