GOGANOVIĆ CALLS ON KONAKOVIĆ TO SAY WHO IS HOLDING WHAT AGAINST SERBIA’S MILITARY ATTACHÉ

SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović called on Elmedin Konaković to disclose which competent BiH body submitted the official report and documentation against Serbia's military attaché Milan Dulanović and what he is being accused of.

"The public has the right to know on the basis of whose official report and what facts such a serious decision was made," Goganović told SRNA following Konaković's decision to declare Milan Dulanović, military attaché at the Serbian Embassy, and Darko Maksimović, an adviser to a Security-Information Agency /BIA/ representative at the Embassy, persona non grata.

Goganović stressed that cooperation with Dulanović has been professional and proper, and that such decisions also have a serious political dimension.

If Konaković is invoking the BiH Presidency's 2004 rulebook, Goganović pointed out that he must then apply it in its entirety.

"Irresponsible individuals from political Sarajevo are once again showing that they want to make decisions on behalf of all of us, without dialogue and agreement with the other two constituent peoples," Goganović said.

He stressed that such moves do not strengthen BiH, but further undermine mutual trust, weaken joint institutions and create new political crises.

He warned that this case should also seriously concern the Association of Military Attachés accredited in BiH.

If one minister can arbitrarily make such decisions, Goganović said, then every military attaché in BiH should ask themselves whether they could be next.

He said it was particularly absurd that the Council of Ministers gives consent for the appointment of military attachés, while an attempt is now being made to establish a practice whereby one minister can decide on their expulsion on his own.

"This is no longer merely a question concerning Colonel Dulanović, but of the legal and institutional security of all military representatives accredited in BiH," Goganović concluded.
