SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 6 /SRNA/ - BiH is a base of global terrorism, and its most important springboard for action in Europe, but also in some other places in the world, Dževad Galijašević, a counter-terrorism expert, told SRNA.
Galijašević believes that this is, in fact, the second track of the national policy formulated in Sarajevo.
He said that it would be wrong to call today's terrorist actions incidents, because these are systemic actions that have been going on since the 1990s.
According to him, since 1990, two of the most important features of global terrorism in BiH have been observed.
"They are still a functional expression of the aspiration for a so-called Islamic State; they are still integrated into the basic national interests formulated in Sarajevo. Those two elements are that we recognize the political program, political radicalism, and the extreme program of the Muslim Brotherhood organization," said Galijašević.
They operate here, says Galijašević, through the organization Young Muslims, especially strongly in BiH, where they "have embedded themselves in the political system, taken over institutions, conquered the judiciary.
He stated that political structures - the SDA and SDP - made it possible, but they also made it through the Mujahideen and various other military formations, not only the El Mujahideen detachment but also Algerian, Egyptian, French and London groups of radical Islamists".
He recalls that Miroslav Tuđman, in his book "The Other Side of the Rubicon", states that as early as January 1992, more than 1,000 Afro-Asian elements with war experience from Afghanistan were granted BiH citizenship, and that this was done by the authorities in Sarajevo.
ACTIONS OF THE MUSLIM BROTHERS NEVER STOPPED IN BiH
According to him, these were not incidents, but the systemic actions of the so-called Muslim Brotherhood, which never stopped in BiH.
"For their extreme political programs, which are violent and murderous, they found the religious teachings and practices of Wahhabism in order to gain divine religious legitimacy and, in addition to what they offered us as false patriotism, to also cover themselves with the halo of faith, Islam," said Galijašević.
He warned that these two elements - Wahhabi teachings and religious practice, which are seen in certain settlements and communities, are a competing interpretation of Islam in relation to traditional Islam, that is, they are the bases of the Muslim Brotherhood for the realization of their goals.
MUJAHIDEEN FROM BiH INVOLVED IN TERRORIST ACTIONS WORLDWIDE
According to him, terrorist actions occasionally come from those bases, when they need it and when it suits them.
Galijašević recalled the terrorist actions of radical Islamic terrorists who once slaughtered 27 Croatian workers of Hidrogradnja in Algeria at a time when the commander of the El Mujahideen detachment was the Algerian Abu Mali.
He stated that at the same time, there was a terrorist attack on the US military base Dhahran in Saudi Arabia, organized by the first commander of the Mujahideen, Sheikh Abdelaziz Barbarossa, and later followed by an attack on the World Trade Center, planned by Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, a citizen of BiH.
Galijašević said that this attack is also written about in the report of the US Government, Congress and Senate, a joint document on September 11, 2001, which is more than 500 pages long.
