EAST SARAJEVO, JULY 13 /SRNA/ – Security expert Dževad Galijašević stated that foreign intelligence services played an active role in creating the global narrative about Srebrenica, and assessed that presenting Srebrenica as an attempt to revise history is aimed at ensuring that Serbs and Bosniaks never reconcile.
"The fundamental harm of these narratives, which are based on disagreements about historical events like those in Jasenovac, as well as other grave crimes that are practically never mentioned, is that they insist only on the suffering of one side," Galijašević told SRNA.
He believes it is time to place the issue of Serbian-Bosniak relations on the table and discuss it.
"It must finally be established whether Srebrenica was a conspiracy involving the very top of BiH with Alija Izetbegović at the helm, or a conspiracy in which the command of the 28th Division with Naser Orić at the head participated, or whether the Americans, who relocated that command to Sarajevo, were also involved," said Galijašević.
He emphasized that foreign intelligence services had an active role in creating the global narrative about Srebrenica.
"What we have been lacking all this time is a dialogue that would resolve the issue of selection and the number of actual victims. Were there any women and children at all? How many people died in minefields or in previous battles? I remind you that the crime in Srebrenica occurred at the very end of the war in BiH," Galijašević said.
He pointed out that the West created these events with the aim of definitively pitting all three peoples in BiH against each other.
"That is why we saw the Muslim attempt to break the siege of Sarajevo, then Srebrenica, then ‘Operation Storm’, then the attack on Serbs in Vozuća. From this, it is clear that each people was assigned an operation at the very end of the war," Galijašević concluded.
