BELGRADE, MAY 29 /SRNA/ - Željka Cvijanović, the Serb Member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, said it was important that Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik attended the security forum in Moscow and added that more and more people were beginning to understand that BuiH was a poorly told story, which she found encouraging.
“For three decades, BiH has been a wrongly told story. Lies have been presented as truth, and those who defended the Dayton Peace Agreement were accused of undermining it. True constitutional defenders were labeled as separatists. It’s all a lie,” Cvijanović told RTS.
She has emphasized that BiH clearly faces difficulties and functions poorly, with the three members of the Presidency serving as the most vivid example of how stark the differences are.
Cvijanović said that while she was recently in the United States, some individuals there spoke of punishing those in BiH who do not respect the Dayton Peace Agreement. However, they were unaware that in BiH, one man /Christian Schmidt/ had imposed a law to prosecute the President of Republika Srpska /Milorad Dodik/, amended the electoral law, and suspended the constitution of one of the entities.
She stressed that Republika Srpska is fighting against such actions.
“We are not fighting against the Dayton, but against its distortion and the usurped powers certain bureaucrats, like the one in BiH /Schmidt/, have claimed for themselves, who think they can be above the parliament and government, spend our money, decide what gets funded, all without any accountability. That’s not normal in the year of 2025,” Cvijanović said.
She emphasized the importance of Republika Srpska representatives meeting with everyone.
“We have never taken a selective approach. You’ve seen where I’ve managed to go in the past - the Gulf, Arab countries, the United States, Europe, our region... It’s good that we’re trying to establish good relations with everyone, to repair or rebuild them,” Cvijanović said.
She pointed out that what is happening in Europe today is a form of so-called “cancel culture,” where people are imprisoned or political parties are banned if they cannot be defeated in elections - either verbally or politically.
“If the Vice President of the United States says this and points a finger at those doing it, I understand - because we are in the same position, as we’ve been subjected to this for years. They are constantly trying to strip us of our competencies,” Cvijanović stated.
