BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 20 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik said there was no reason for the Council of Ministers to withhold its consent to a request allowing Serbian citizens to vote in BiH.
Dodik stressed that Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, is not BiH, adding that his threats to block Serbian citizens’ voting were further evidence of how privatised the entire issue was.
"They still have not learned that this goes most strongly against the very idea of BiH. If someone has written into the Constitution that BiH represents a common position shared by everyone, then it cannot be Elmedin's position alone," Dodik told the press in Banjaluka.
He added that Konaković did not respect Serbs as a constituent people and stressed that Serbs had the right to vote and wanted to exercise that right.
"If the Council of Ministers fails to do so, we will enter a very difficult spiral of mutual misunderstanding that will bring nothing good to BiH. Let him /Konaković/ decide what he is going to do," Dodik concluded.
