BOSANSKI PETROVAC, JUNE 22 /SRNA/ – The existing migrant camps in BiH must be closed, and the opening of new ones is out of the question, stated Nemanja Davidović, Advisor to the President of Republika Srpska, in a statement to SRNA.

“These camps are not a solution, but rather a source of instability, fear, and everyday security issues for citizens. Republika Srpska must not be part of such arrangements now or in the future,” Davidović emphasized.

He pointed out that the situation today would have been significantly better had Bosniak politicians been more receptive to following the policy of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and prevented the opening of camps in the Federation of BiH.

“There are many Bosniaks who oppose the arrival of migrants and the formation of new camps, but unfortunately, political elites, who listen more to foreign handlers than their own people, make decisions to their detriment,” Davidović noted.

He warned that all those who, for personal gain and a little power in Sarajevo, accept arrangements with Western countries must realize that they are playing with the security and future of their own people.

Davidović highlighted that living in close proximity to the largest migrant camp in BiH, located in the village of Lipa near Bihać, meant daily exposure to insecurity, fear, and general chaos for the local population.

This situation, he said, unfortunately led to serious security and social challenges that impacted the quality of life.

The British government has officially announced its intention to relocate around 60,000 unwanted migrants from Asia and Africa to the Balkans, including Serbia, Kosovo and Metohija, BiH, North Macedonia, and Albania.
