BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 8 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović assessed that the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers Elmedin Konaković, with his disgraceful statements about the visit of the Republika Srpska delegation to Washington, has practically separated Republika Srpska from BiH.
She stated that Konaković seeks to present himself as someone who knows everything, while in fact he knows nothing.
"That is that kind of politics where, by defending the exclusivity of only his own national corps, you put on a mask that all of this is in the function of protecting the state, while you are actually promoting the domination of some over others. Republika Srpska is successfully fighting against this, and we will fight even more successfully," Cvijanović said.
She told RTRS that Konaković and others are exerting pressure, but that there is no longer room for smear campaigns, that those times are over, and that Republika Srpska wants to make use of the new time.
Commenting on claims that the Republika Srpska delegation in Washington "took photos in hallways," Cvijanović said that such stories are an attempt to divert attention from the importance of the events, and that anyone who understands these matters knows that these are happenings on the margins of gatherings, and that if a politician is capable, they can say a lot in 10 to 15 minutes and receive feedback.
Cvijanović said that in Washington she showed what it means when the Serb member of the BiH Presidency comes there, who politely carries out a political task, without abusing or exploiting state resources to speak against others.
She emphasized that she is accountable to the citizens of Republika Srpska and that she will support the southern, northern, and eastern interconnections and everything that will benefit citizens in the future.
Cvijanović said that Republika Srpska is discussing many investments that have been presented as possible for cooperation, that opportunities have been recognized, and that now, when Republika Srpska is no longer under pressure, this time should be used for what is in the interest of Republika Srpska - security, political understanding, and dialogue.
She assessed that the visit to America was excellent, with many interlocutors who showed great understanding, expanded their knowledge about Republika Srpska, which will continue to work on developing cooperation and has shown that it has integrity.
Cvijanović stressed that a new time has arrived, that there are new interlocutors and new policies they promote, and that it is the duty of Republika Srpska to secure its place in all of this, but without any intention of harming anyone.
"We want a Republika that is peaceful and stable, that can develop, that can have economic projects with the USA and everyone else, because this is a novelty in relations with them since they have so far approached from a position of force," Cvijanović said, adding that Republika Srpska is now showing itself as a credible partner.
Commenting on the speech of US President Donald Trump at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, which the Republika Srpska delegation attended, Cvijanović said that the speech was exceptional and that it is a major struggle and political agenda being implemented that will benefit humanity.
She emphasized that Republika Srpska identifies with the agenda of the Trump administration in that it does not want illegal migrants on its territory, given that it is a large number of people who cannot be controlled and whose security relevance is unknown.
It is a policy, she pointed out, that anyone is welcome who is not a criminal and who understands that there are laws that must be respected.
Cvijanović said that Trump, in a relaxed and interesting way, communicated many very serious things at the Prayer Breakfast, including that he does not allow Christians to be exposed to terror.
"The path of Republika Srpska is the path of truth, removing injustice, stabilization, building friendships and partnerships, and not doing anything bad to anyone," Cvijanović said.
She stressed that it is very important for Republika Srpska to contribute to the improvement of relations, noting that Republika Srpska has a great friend in Hungary, which realistically views the situation in BiH, then in Israel, from which it has excellent support and understanding, and in Russia.
