SARAJEVO, January 1 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, has sent a telegram of condolences to the President of Switzerland, Guy Parmelin, following a tragedy in which a large number of people were killed during New Year celebrations at the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana.
"I was deeply shaken by the news of the tragic event during New Year celebrations at a Swiss ski resort, which resulted in a large number of dead and injured," Cvijanović said.
She extended her deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, the President of Switzerland, and the country's institutions, and wished the injured a swift and successful recovery.
Around 40 people were killed and about 100 injured after an explosion triggered a fire in a café at the Crans-Montana ski resort in Switzerland, Swiss officials said.
Most of the injured sustained serious injuries.
The fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m., while the cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.
