CVIJANOVIĆ: I CALL ON SERBIA’S MILITARY ATTACHÉ TO REMAIN IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA, WHERE HE WILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE HOSPITALITY AND PROTECTION

SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stressed that Elmedin Konaković cannot even determine what BiH is, let alone dictate anything to Serbia, and called on Serbia’s military attaché to remain in Republika Srpska.

Regarding the allegedly expelled members of the Serbian Embassy in BiH, Cvijanović said that the mandate of one of them had expired.

"As far as we know, he has already left BiH. As for military attachés, consent for their arrival is not given by the Minister of Foreign Affairs but by the Council of Ministers, and the same applies when it comes to denying them permission to stay," Cvijanović said.

In addition, she said, such measures denying hospitality require evidence supporting the reasons for such a decision.

"I will request information from the competent institutions as to whether there are grounds for this, or whether Konaković has, out of helplessness, been overcome by rabies," Cvijanović stressed.

She also added that the minister cannot dismiss BiH ambassadors in other countries, as only the BiH Presidency can do so, while regarding the announced reduction of staff at the BiH Embassy in Belgrade, she believes that this can only be to the detriment of citizens of both entities.

"In addition, Konaković’s orders on anything do not reflect the positions of BiH, because Republika Srpska, with its 49 percent of the territory, does not participate in this," Cvijanović said.

She also noted that Republika Srpska and Serbia have signed an Agreement on Special and Parallel Relations, provided for by the Dayton Agreement, and that this cooperation will continue unhindered in all areas.

"Konaković would be better off watching whether Bosniak officials in the diplomatic and consular missions network are dealing drugs than meddling in Serbia’s affairs. I call on Serbia’s military attaché to remain in Republika Srpska, where he will continue to receive hospitality and protection," Cvijanović wrote on X.
