CVIJANOVIĆ: BOSNIAK POLITICAL ISSUES NO LONGER FIND FERTILE GROUND INTERNATIONALLY

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 28 /SRNA/ – Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović says that Republika Srpska does not want to be hostage to Bosniak political issues because they no longer find fertile ground internationally, stressing that narratives about the centralization of BiH and reducing Srpska’s capacities are over.

Cvijanović said that she was invited to attend a reception in New York organised by U.S. President Donald Trump because of the good relations Republika Srpska has with the Trump administration.

She says this as a major recognition for Republika Srpska and noted that this was the first time a Serb BiH Presidency member had attended the reception.

Cvijanović described official Sarajevo’s claims that the invitation to the reception had been paid for as insults and nonsense.

She said that Bosniak BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović had gone to the UN solely to criticize Republika Srpska and Serbia, adding that representatives of other countries at the UN got tired of such narratives.

“They say they /Bosniak politicians/ talk about the past, they are prisoners of their political agendas and that they are unable to move forward, and we are supposed to respond to that. We are not the same, and we cannot be prisoners of their political issues because they no longer find fertile ground internationally,” the Serb BiH Presidency member told K3 Television.

She emphasized that usurpation taking place in BiH must stop, noting that the imposition of laws had already ceased.

She said that the Trump administration’s messages that it would no longer be a tutor in BiH and local politicians must find solutions themselves were clear. She also pointed out that the absence of references to the Bonn Powers represented a change in the U.S. position and approach toward BiH.

Cvijanović said that in the coming years she intends to visit all important international addresses again because, as she says, there is still work to be done before it can be certain the Republic is peaceful, secure, stable, and that no one will harass it.

“There are several countries and governments in Europe that are very hostile, but I am pleased that there are more of those who understand what is happening here,” Cvijanović concluded.
