ČOVIĆ: LAW ON THE BAN OF MANAGING "STATE PROPERTY" SHOULD BE WITHDRAWN

SARAJEVO, JANUARY 29 /SRNA/ - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Dragan Čović stated that pressure should be exerted on the Office of the High Representative /OHR/ to withdraw the imposed Law on the Ban of Managing "State Property" to ensure that the economy in BiH functions normally.

"We need to put pressure on the person who imposed these amendments to withdraw them, so that our economy can operate normally and investment can take place, until politics is mature and responsible enough to pass the law," Čović said.

The Law on the Temporary Ban on Managing "State Property" was adopted in 2005 and temporarily prohibited the sale of real estate considered "state property".

The ban remains in effect until the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH enacts a law on property, which has still not been done.
