SARAJEVO, JUNE 14 /SRNA/ – Chairwoman of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Sanja Vulić, stated that it appears the Constitutional Court of BiH is not seeking an answer to a legal question, but rather an excuse to avoid issuing a ruling on unconstitutional provisions of the Criminal Code imposed by Christian Schmidt.
Vulić stressed that some may believe today that by delaying proceedings they can stop the truth or prevent justice, recalling that more than six months have passed without a decision from the Court.
She stressed the Court’s explanation that reviewing the constitutionality of the Criminal Code provisions imposed by Schmidt is a complex matter is unconvincing, especially considering that a parliamentary commission had already concluded that the provisions were not in accordance with the Constitution.
“If a parliamentary commission was able to reach a clear position, then it is justified to ask why the Constitutional Court continues to hesitate,” Vulić told SRNA.
History teaches us, Vulić emphasized, that justice may be delayed but cannot be permanently prevented.
“Law was not created to serve as a tool of political persecution or an instrument for punishing political opponents, which is what the judiciary of BiH served for Schmidt and /former U.S. Ambassador/ Michael Murphy,” she added.
She stressed that the essence of law is the protection of human rights, the democratic will of citizens, and the constitutional order, expressing confidence that in this case the final judgment will be delivered by facts, law, and time.
Vulić argued that there is only one undeniable fact: that Milorad Dodik represents the will of the Serb people as expressed through democratic, transparent, and internationally recognised elections.
“The judges of the Constitutional Court know this as well, but they are evidently still afraid of the ghosts of globalists that continue to hover over Sarajevo,” Vulić said.
he Constitutional Court of BiH told SRNA that the review of the constitutionality of the Criminal Code provisions imposed by Christian Schmidt is a complex matter, which is why no decision has been reached even after six months.
In December of last year, the SNSD caucus in the Republika Srpska National Assembly submitted an appeal to the Constitutional Court seeking a review of the constitutionality of certain provisions to the Criminal Code of BiH imposed by Schmidt.
Under the provisions of the Criminal Code, failure to implement decisions of the high representative led to the conviction of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.
