SARAJEVO, MAY 8 /SRNA/ – The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has opened a case against a member of the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/ of BiH Zijad Krnjić, following a criminal complaint filed by the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska over suspicions that the adoption of acts necessary for the operation of the new border crossing in Gradiška was blocked, SRNA has been confirmed.

"The complaint has been received in accordance with standard procedure, a case has been formed and assigned to the competent prosecutor for review of the validity of the allegations," the Prosecutor's Office of BiH stated.

The Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska filed the criminal complaint on suspicion that Krnjić, as a member of the ITA BiH Management Board, through voting against amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organization, blocked necessary procedures for the opening of the new border crossing on the bridge in Gradiška.

He is accused of abuse of office or authority and negligent work in service, with claims that the disputed actions have been ongoing since December, thereby blocking a project of importance for the economy.

The Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska previously stated that Krnjić was aware of the possible consequences from his public statements, but nevertheless continued to maintain the same position in decision-making.
