SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 9 /SRNA/ - The Court of BiH has confirmed that the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange /IDDEEA/ of BiH carried out, and continues to carry out, all activities related to the introduction of electronic signature and electronic identity illegally, SNSD Presidency member Snježana Novaković Bursać told SRNA.

Bursać, who raised this issue as a member of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, said that IDDEEA engaged in the usurpation of competencies in creating electronic identities, unlawful processing of personal data, and illegal activities related to issuing electronic signatures.

"Based on the response, I filed a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Agency, which ordered that these activities be halted," Bursać explained after the Court of BiH rejected IDDEEA’s appeal against the decision of the Personal Data Protection Agency of BiH.

She reminded that the decisions of the Personal Data Protection Agency are binding.

Bursać emphasized that IDDEEA ignored the decision of the Personal Data Protection Agency of BiH and that certain business and legal entities acted according to IDDEEA’s instructions, which, in the meantime, caused damage.

"This is a case of usurpation and a direct violation of regulations, and damage has certainly been done. I believe that the authorities at both the BiH and Republika Srpska levels need to act, to stop the damage and seek accountability from the individuals who carried all this out," Bursać said.
