BRUSSELS SUPPORTS POLICIES PUSHING REPUBLIKA SRPSKA OUT OF BiH

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 25 /SRNA/ – Analyst Srđa Trifković assessed for SRNA that the messages conveyed by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos during her visit to BiH were full of hypocrisy and falsehoods, adding that political Sarajevo receives fuel from Brussels for destructive actions that push Republika Srpska out of BiH.

Trifković said that Kos' speech yesterday before members of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly was full of clichés and that her entire address was condescending toward the audience.

"She said the EU offers peace, freedom, security, and a strong economy. That's quite interesting, considering that the EU, or rather its leading member states - Germany, France, and Poland - are advocating for the prolongation of the war in Ukraine," said Trifković, also a professor of international relations.

He believes that blaming Republika Srpska for the stagnation on the EU path is unfounded, emphasizing that this is merely Kos' call to accept illegal decisions of the illegitimate High Representative and judicial bodies not provided for in the Dayton Agreement.

Trifković also pointed out that problems cannot be resolved in Sarajevo, as Brussels seems to wish.

"Political Sarajevo receives fuel from Brussels for destructive actions that are pushing Republika Srpska out of BiH. It's like entrusting Marta Kos, as Commissioner, with protecting Republika Srpska from herself. It's like assigning Count Dracula to guard a blood transfusion center," Trifković stressed.

Regarding the freedom Kos spoke about, Trifković pointed to the blocking of presidential candidate Calin Georgescu in Romania, the judicial exclusion of Marine Le Pen from political life in France, and the treatment of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party by the German authorities, despite its support from about a third of the country's citizens.

"They are going after Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, accusing him of being an autocrat, even though he is the politician with the highest democratic credibility in the entire EU, among all 27 member states. That support has been confirmed at the polls," Trifković noted.

He also described as hypocritical the call not to miss the next wave of EU enlargement, even though everyone, including Kos, knows such a wave won't happen.

"There is neither possibility nor will for enlargement. If Berlin and Paris don't want enlargement, there will be none," Trifković emphasized.

In that context, he considers the European Commissioner's statement destabilizing, as she said that membership is the only way to maintain peace and stability.

"It is tragically comical to claim that the absence of Western Balkan integration into the EU is one of the saddest moments. There have been many sad moments, including the war in Ukraine, which was provoked by the policy of the collective West, and the migration crisis threatening to destroy traditional European nations, cultures, and civilization," said Trifković, who is also a historian.

This publicist doubts the claims that anyone truly wants to see BiH as a full member of the EU, given that there are no surveys or public opinion polls in European countries on this issue.

"Marta Kos uses rhetoric based on unverified facts," Trifković says.
