SARAJEVO, MARCH 12 /SRNA/ - Changing the Constitution of BiH is an extremely serious and sensitive issue that carries numerous political and legal implications, and constitutional interventions as a response to the political inefficiency and incompetence of the parties of the "Troika" are irresponsible and frivolous, according to the position of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

The Caucus stated that the Constitution of BiH is Annex IV of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which means that any discussion about its amendments must be approached with great responsibility and a wide political and social consensus.

"The fact that certain political structures, such as the `Troika,` have difficulties in conducting policies and functioning within the FBiH is not the problem of other political representatives, but, first of all, of those who gave these structures the political trust to lead them," the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives stated.

This was a response to an association that, by surveying MPs about a proposal to amend the Constitution of BiH, is attempting to correct the inactivity of the parties of the `Troika`.

The Caucus reminded that the constitution is the highest legal act of any state, and that in the case of BiH, it is necessary to take into account the additional complexity of its constitutional order.

The Caucus emphasized that Republika Srpska, within the scope of its competences, has a clearly regulated system through laws and by-laws, and that issues in the field of healthcare and other policies are regulated by legislation and implemented under the supervision of competent institutions, including the health inspectorate of Republika Srpska.

"We believe that serious constitutional issues must be considered responsibly, with full respect for the complexity of the constitutional order of BiH, and not as a response to day-to-day political problems," the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives said in its response.
