SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 4 /SRNA/ The incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH today rejected the appeal of the defense of President Milorad Dodik against the verdict of the Court of BiH, which sentenced him to one year in prison and six years of ban on political activity for "disrespecting the decisions of Christian Schmidt".
At the extraordinary session, the incomplete Constitutional Court also discussed the appeal regarding the Central Election Commission’s (CEC) decision from August 6, which it also rejected as unfounded.
Members of President Dodik’s legal team announced that they would file an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
The Court of BiH convicted President Dodik of "disrespecting the decisions of Christian Schmidt" because he signed a decree proclaiming a law adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
Dodik was tried for a criminal offense that was introduced into the Criminal Code of BiH based on Schmidt’s decision. /
