BANJA LUKA, JULY 1 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska is not and will not become a center for the failed migration policies of other countries, and the National Assembly of Republika Srpska rejects all programs of deportation and accommodation of citizens of third countries on the territory of BiH, and therefore also on the territory of Republika Srpska, states the draft declaration by President Milorad Dodik on the issue of migrants.
In the text of the Draft Declaration on rejecting the initiatives of the Government of the United Kingdom, the EU, and its member states to establish migrant centers on the territory of BiH, and opposing any forced settlement of migrants in Srpska, it is stated that the National Assembly rejects all possible acts, discussions, plans, or memoranda that would, without Srpska's consent, include BiH in such processes.
"The National Assembly of Republika Srpska particularly warns of the danger that such plans represent a continuation of efforts to permanently alter the demographic structure of Republika Srpska through silent Islamization and directing migrants exclusively to Serb areas, as was shown in the village of Lipa near Bihać," the document being considered by the Srpska parliament states.
The proposed declaration calls on all Serb political representatives in BiH joint institutions to immediately, publicly, and unequivocally reject any participation in such plans, and if any communication with the Government of the United Kingdom or EU countries has occurred, to inform the public of its content.
The National Assembly also expresses regret for the problems the United Kingdom faces in integrating some migrants and welcomes any initiative of its sovereign government that will resolve these issues in a humane and civilized manner, emphasizing that Republika Srpska and its citizens in no way participated in creating this problem.
The proposed declaration also states that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska reminds the Government of the United Kingdom, the EU, and its member states that Republika Srpska and BiH have already suffered and continue to suffer the consequences of the failed and irresponsible migration policies of those countries, as they did not provide an adequate response and failed to prevent the entry and movement of migrants into this region.
"The National Assembly of Srpska tasks the Government of Republika Srpska to take all necessary measures within its competencies to physically and institutionally prevent any implementation of this or similar plans," the declaration emphasizes.
The proposed document calls on the public, NGOs, media, academia, and all political actors in Republika Srpska to clearly declare themselves and raise their voices against turning BiH, especially Republika Srpska, into a space for experiments and accommodation of persons clearly designated as undesirable and unacceptable in other European countries.
"The National Assembly of Republika Srpska will, in the event of any unilateral action regarding this issue, consider all political, institutional, and legal measures to protect the interests of Republika Srpska and its citizens, refusing without hesitation to discuss or implement any agreements on this topic," it is emphasized in the Draft Declaration.
The text states that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska tasks the Government of Republika Srpska to inform it once every six months about developments and findings in the field of migration.
