DECAPITATED BODY OF DRAGICA LAZAREVIĆ'S BROTHER FOUND IN A GARBAGE DUMP

SREBRENICA, JULY 10 /SRNA/ - Dragica Lazarević from the Srebrenica village of Zalazje lost her husband and two brothers in an attack by Muslim forces under the command of Naser Oric on July 12, 33 years ago, and the body of one brother was found decapitated in a garbage dump.

"It is sad what is being done to the Serb people, for whom there is no justice because no one is held accountable for the murders of Serbs. This is the legality and standards imposed by the West," said Lazarević.

She says she respects all victims, but that others should also respect Serb victims if they want to live together in BiH.

"Without prosecuting the criminals, there is no trust and reconciliation because the Serbs did not kill themselves. It is known who did it," Lazarević pointed out.

Staka Cvjetinović's husband Ivan perished in Zalazje in 1992, and his remains were buried two decades later.

"No one has yet been held accountable for him and the others who were captured alive and killed in Srebrenica, although there is testimony and eyewitnesses have given statements, but those who make decisions downplay it," said Cvjetinović.

She said that her former Bosniak neighbors told her that they brought her disfigured husband to Srebrenica and "led him through the streets to show what a Chetnik looks like".

"He was killed in the camp, and no one was held accountable. There is no justice for Serbs, and young people need to be told what happened, in order not to happen again," said Cvjetinović.

Veljko Vasić was seriously wounded on that fateful July 12, 1992, in Zalazje and remained disabled.

"More than 1,000 soldiers attacked the 40 of us at around 9:00 a.m. Chaos ensued. I was wounded and stayed in the attic of a house. No one was held accountable for that, and the rest of my life as a disabled person lost its meaning," said Veljko, while showing the photos of murdered acquaintances and fallen comrades placed next to the approach to the memorials in Zalazje and asking whether anyone will be held accountable for that, as well as whether justice is achievable for the Serbs.

Muslim forces from Srebrenica under the command of Orić raided several Serb villages in the Srebrenica and Bratunac municipalities on St. Peter's Day, July 12, 1992, and killed 69 villagers.

According to the book "Testimony about the Unpunished Crime against Serbs in Podrinje," out off the 22 missing, 10 were accidentally found and exhumed on June 10, 2011, from a mass grave in Zalazje, during the search for the Bosniak victims.

The remains of the victims were identified and buried on St. Peter's Day 2012, more than a year later, while two were exhumed, identified and buried earlier.

Ten missing people have not yet been found and all traces of these people are lost in a camp in the former Srebrenica police station. None of those captured survived and no one has been held accountable for their murders. /to be continued/
