BELGRADE, JUNE 20 /SRNA/ - The director of Serbia's Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Arnaud Gouillon, met today with Tristan Azbej, the Hungarian State Secretary responsible for aid to persecuted Christians, informing him about the persecution of the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija.
Gouillon emphasized the need for increased international attention, solidarity, and truth regarding the suffering of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy stated in a press release.
"At a time when Christians are being persecuted in the heart of Europe, in Kosovo and Metohija, it is important that solidarity does not remain merely in words but is demonstrated through concrete actions. Aid to the most vulnerable is not only a humanitarian obligation but also a moral duty," said Gouillon.
He also pointed out that Albanian separatists in the southern Serbian province continuously and systematically destroy and appropriate Christian religious buildings and sacred monuments, according to the press release.
Gouillon added that he and Azbej share the same French origin and mission, as they have dedicated their lives to protecting Christians who suffer because of their faith, and to preserving their dignity, culture, and spiritual identity in the places where they are most vulnerable./
