BANJA LUKA, JUNE 26 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska National Assembly Deputy Speaker Anja Ljubojević told SRNA that the planned introduction of reserve police is a justified decision that will contribute to the greater safety of Srpska’s residents, therefore the certain individuals’ statements, especially the EU Delegation’s ones, politicizing or even portraying this positive initiative as a warlike move are deeply hypocritical.
When asked to comment on the EU Delegation's statement expressing "serious concern" about the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Police and Internal Affairs being fast-tracked, Ljubojević emphasized she sees nothing "concerning," as they put it, in the intention to introduce a reserve police.
"This is solely a well-intentioned measure aimed at strengthening security, enabling faster response in the field, timely action in crisis situations and natural disasters, as well as additional support to regular police forces in protecting citizens. It poses no threat to anyone but is rather a responsible move by the leadership of Srpska’s Interior Ministry in the interest of stability, law, and order in Republika Srpska," said Ljubojević.
She explained that this bill merely demonstrates the determination and readiness of Republika Srpska’s institutions to preserve public order, legality, stability, and the safety of all of us, therefore, no one, especially not the EU Delegation, should be concerned.
Referring to the EU Delegation’s appeal for the Republika Srpska National Assembly to abandon what they called an unnecessary and counterproductive initiative, Ljubojević stated that the National Assembly and its deputies will decisively support this bill and continue to work in the interest of the people who elected them and trust them.
Regarding their claim that the reserve police introduction could deepen divisions in BiH and destabilize the security situation, Ljubojević asserted that the only one threatening all that has been achieved in BiH is German national Christian Schmidt.
“He is the one who, through unconstitutional and anti-Dayton activities, has plunged BiH into its greatest political and constitutional crisis since the Dayton Peace Agreement, not Republika Srpska, nor its police. They should be concerned about his very presence in BiH, as everything he does undermines the country and its stability,” Ljubojević stressed.
Although, according to Ljubojević, Schmidt’s "malicious edge" toward Republika Srpska, its officials, and the Serbs has dulled significantly after the departure of his mentor Michael Murphy from BiH and the election of Donald Trump as US President, Schmidt is still trying to stir trouble and shift the failed British-German migration policy onto the territory of Republika Srpska and BiH.
“Germany and Britain are trying to station migrants in Republika Srpska and BiH and make them a part of our everyday lives. They’ve found a puppet Schmidt, who’s willing to do anything just to stay in BiH longer,” Ljubojević said.
She added that this idea, too, will remain just another failed attempt, as the Srpska institutions will not allow migrants to settle in Republika Srpska or turn it into a migrant zone.
“The Srpska institutions remain firm in defending the interests of Republika Srpska and its people. Those who once invited migrants into their countries, such as former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, should now feel free to keep them there, instead of relocating them to us,” Ljubojević concluded.
