BANJA LUKA, JUNE 17 /SRNA/ - Nemanja Davidović, advisor to the President of Republika Srpska, told SRNA that it is essential that the head of Republika Srpska is a man who does not back down under pressure and who has already shown that he knows how to protect national and state interests.
"Through my experience, especially in connection with the situation in Bosanski Petrovac, it became clear how important is to have stable and decisive government that will not succumb to external pressures," Davidović emphasized.
He pointed out that living in the immediate vicinity of the largest migrant camp in BiH, which was located in Lipa, meant facing insecurities, fear and general chaos that engulfed the local population on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, he says, this situation led to serious security and social challenges that had an impact on the quality of life.
Considering that experience, he added, a justified question arises: What would happen if a similar scenario were to happen in Republika Srpska?
"When we hear more and more frequent announcements that so-called `centers for the return of migrants` are being planned in BiH, and thus in the Republika Srpska, then this is not a matter of international cooperation, but a matter of our security, demography and future, especially when it comes to migrants who have been rejected in serious and orderly countries of the West led by Great Britain," pointed out Davidović.
However, he stated, the biggest problem is not that foreigners have their own interests - that is to be expected, the problem is that within Srpska itself there are political forces that, for the sake of a little power and a few positions in Sarajevo, would be ready to keep quiet, to accept, to nod their heads and say "yes" to everything that comes from foreigners.
"They proved themselves in this. Today centers for migrants, tomorrow who knows what. And here we come to the key difference. While some are silent, calculating and seeking the consent of their masters from abroad, the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik clearly said `no`. No to migrant camps. No to imposed and other people's decisions without the participation of the Republika Srpska," emphasized Davidović.
Recalling that not a single camp was opened in Republika Srpska at the time when hundreds of thousands of migrants were passing through BiH, Davidović explained that this was not a random outcome, but the result of a clear and consistent policy, the one that many are trying to break today.
"This is precisely why the president of the Republika Srpska is under constant pressure and prosecution, because he will not obey other people's interests and decisions made outside of Srpska. What the citizens of Republika Srpska must know is that there must be no indifference in these matters.
This is not about daily politics, but about whether we will decide on our own security in the future, or whether others will make decisions for us. That is why support for President Milorad Dodik at this moment is not only an expression of loyalty, but also an expression of responsibility towards Republika Srpska and its future," said Davidović.
The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik sent the Republika Srpska National Assembly an initiative to consider information about migrants so that Srpska would adopt certain measures regarding the announcement by the governments of Great Britain and some EU countries that more than 50,000 migrants would be transferred to BiH.
