BELGRADE, MAY 24 /SRNA/ - Serbia’s youth freestyle wrestling representative, Muslim Dadaev, has won a silver medal at the European Under-15 Championships, held in Bulgaria.
Dadaev reached the title of European vice-champion in the 48-kilogram category after three convincing victories.
In the round of 16, he first defeated France’s Olcan Duman 11–5, and then went on to beat Poland’s Hamlet Simonian 6–4 in the quarterfinals.
In the semifinal, he defeated Luka Ananiev of North Macedonia 8–1, while in the final bout, he was defeated by Russia’s Umar Iklazov.
In addition to Dadaev’s silver medal, at the continental championship in Samokov, young Serbian wrestler David Habi won bronze in Greco-Roman style, while fifth places were taken by Adam Horvat, Dragan Tankosić, and Nevena Živojinović.
