TEHRAN, MAY 31 /SRNA/ - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reportedly submitted his resignation to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, reported "Iran International".
Pezeshkian submitted an official letter of resignation to the office of the Supreme Leader.
As he clarified, the commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have taken over key state decisions, rendering his administration isolated and unable to carry out its tasks and responsibilities.
As reported by "Iran International" and "The Jerusalem Post", Pezeshkian emphasized that his government is completely excluded from major decision-making processes.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has not yet announced whether the resignation will be accepted.
Pezeshkian requested to step down immediately.
